Companion Care
Companion care is non-medical caregiving combined with companionship which provides emotional support, friendship, and socialization. Companion care can be provided in-home, in the hospital, or in healthcare facility settings on a short-term or long-term basis. Common companion care services include:
- regular visits, conversation, and companionship
- meal preparation
- light housekeeping and laundry services
- mail, paperwork, and home organization
- shopping, errands, and transportation
- recreational planning and activities
- physical therapy assistance

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care
Alzheimer’s/Dementia care is individualized caregiving for a person living with memory-care related health issues. Care plans are built around the person and their interests not around the disease. Plans are designed to be engaging and calming, as well as safe and flexible. Alzheimer’s/Dementia care commonly includes:
- experienced caregiving with Alzheimer’s/Dementia
- planned activities that are mentally, physically, and emotionally stimulating
- caregiving and care companion services
- emotional support for caregivers
- respite for caregivers
In-facility Care
In-facility care is supplemental caregiving and companionship for an individual living in a care facility. In-facility care can include:
- regular visits, conversation, and companionship
- meal preparation
- light housekeeping
- mail and paperwork organization
- shopping, errands, and transportation
- recreational planning and activities
- physical therapy assistance
- updates for family and loved ones
- respite for family and loved ones
Post-hospital Care
Post hospital care is caregiving and companionship for someone after discharge from the hospital or time at a rehabilitation facility. Post hospital care commonly includes:
- transport to and from hospital or facility
- transport to follow up appointments and physical therapy sessions
- physical therapy assistance
- emotional support and encouragement
- companionship
- medication reminders
- meal preparation
- light housekeeping and laundry services
- shopping and errands
- updates for family and loved ones
- respite for caregivers
Respite Care
Respite care is a service for primary caregivers. This care service provides relief by giving caregivers a break from their caregiving responsibilities. Respite care can be provided in-home, in the hospital, or in healthcare facility settings. This service can be provided for a few hours a week, a few hours a day, or for longer periods of time to make an extended break or vacation possible. Respite care can include any of the services listed above: Companion care, Alzheimer/dementia care, In-facility care, and Post hospital care.
